Job Description
A fabrication company in South East Michigan is looking for skilled welder/fabricators! The Fabricator/Welder will be responsible for constructing items by cutting, shaping, and assembling various materials. The Fabricator/Welder will work with blueprints and
specifications, using hand and power tools, and sometimes heavy machinery, to create products according to design.
The position is temp-to-hire with a pay range of $19-22 per hour. Standard work hours are 7:00am to 3:30pm. No overtime would be available until after hire in.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assemble and fabricate metal parts according to blueprints, schematics, and work orders.
- Operate various tools and equipment such as forklifts, press brake machines, and pipe threading machines.
- Rig and move heavy materials and equipment as needed.
- Perform welding tasks, using various techniques such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Ensure all work is completed in a safe and efficient manner.
Qualifications
- 5 years of previous experience in metal fabrication and welding is required.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of fabrication processes.
- Proficiency in reading and interpretating blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with operating forklifts, overhead cranes, metal shear, and ironwork.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively.
- Knowledge of various welding techniques with carbon steel and stainless steel.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Ability to pass knowledge test as well as OSHA Safety training test.
