Job Description

Cardinal Staffing Services is hiring for Warehouse Associates in Tallahassee, FL.  As a Warehouse Associate for Cardinal Staffing Services, you will be working for an established and growing distribution company and be responsible for working in the shipping and receiving area of the warehouse. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Putting up excess stock from container deliveries and bin consolidation.
  • Participating in cycle counts to ensure accurate inventory numbers and reporting any errors.
  • Fulfilling orders and picking correct inventory to ship out using an RF Scanner.
  • Ensuring productivity targets are met (e.g. 24-hour shipping turnaround, and less than a 1% shipping error rate).
  • Getting dimensions for LTL shipments to ensure proper billing.
  • Wrapping and weighing pallets for proper shipping.
  • Assisting with putting together assembly items for shipping.
  • Monitoring workload to ensure proper delivery expectations and notifying management when workload is too heavy.
  • Cross-training in all warehouse departments.
  • Maintaining a clean house daily to ensure safe and organized working conditions.
  • Assisting the Warehouse Manager as needed.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • Are strong, have endurance, and enjoy rigorous physical activity. 
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Are self-motivated, have a strong work ethic and enjoy taking initiative.
  • Have a keen eye for detail, enjoy planning/organizing, and have great problem solving skills. 
  • Are proficient in basic math (for calculating and recording inventory).
  • Know how to operate a computer and are comfortable using different technology (e.g. scanners).
  • Are comfortable communicating with colleagues verbally and through email.
  • Have previous inventory management, warehousing, order fulfillment, or receiving experience.
  • Enjoy tasks that include shipping, receiving, stocking, and picking/packing.
  • Previous forklift certification and scanner use are preferred.
