This role is responsible for creating and optimizing CNC laser programs to support efficient production, high-quality output, and material utilization. The ideal candidate has a strong background in sheet metal fabrication and enjoys working closely with both engineering and production teams.

We are seeking a skilled Laser Programmer with TRUMPF experience to join our team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for creating and optimizing CNC laser programs to support efficient production, high-quality output, and material utilization. The ideal candidate has a strong background in sheet metal fabrication and enjoys working closely with both engineering and production teams.
What You’ll Do
- Create, edit, and optimize laser cutting programs using TruTops
- Develop efficient nests to maximize material usage and minimize scrap
- Interpret engineering drawings, CAD files, and job specifications
- Select appropriate cutting parameters based on material type and thickness
- Support TRUMPF laser machines (e.g., TruLaser series) on the shop floor
- Troubleshoot programming and cutting issues to maintain production flow
- Collaborate with machine operators and engineers for process improvements
- Optimize cut paths, lead-ins, and pierce points to improve cycle times
- Maintain program documentation and revision control
- Ensure all parts meet quality and dimensional requirements
- 2–5+ years of laser programming experience (TRUMPF preferred)
- Strong experience with TruTops software
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Experience in automotive or high-volume production environments
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks)
- Experience with automated systems (material towers, load/unload systems)
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles
