Job Description
Cardinal Staffing is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Tool Room Attendant to support manufacturing operations by maintaining an efficient tool and parts inventory. This position is responsible for receiving, organizing, issuing, and tracking maintenance tools, hardware, and replacement parts while ensuring the tool room remains clean, accurate, and well-stocked. The ideal candidate has experience working in a maintenance storeroom or parts room and possesses a strong understanding of industrial hardware and mechanical components.
Position is 1st shift (7am - 3pm, but may be subject to change) and is temporary as of right now with no set end date. Pay starts at $24.75/hr.

Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, label, and stock maintenance parts, tools, and supplies.
- Issue tools, hardware, and replacement parts to maintenance personnel while accurately tracking inventory transactions.
- Maintain organized storage locations for bolts, screws, nuts, washers, bearings, belts, seals, fittings, fasteners, hand tools, and other maintenance supplies.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify supervision when stock requires replenishment.
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Maintain accurate records using inventory management software or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), if applicable.
- Identify and locate requested parts quickly to minimize equipment downtime.
- Keep the tool room clean, organized, and compliant with company safety standards.
- Assist with receiving shipments, verifying packing slips, and resolving discrepancies.
- Work closely with maintenance technicians, supervisors, and purchasing personnel to support production needs.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a tool room, maintenance storeroom, warehouse, industrial supply, or parts room preferred.
- Working knowledge of industrial fasteners and mechanical components, including:
- Screws
- Bolts
- Nuts and washers
- Belts
- Bearings
- Bushings
- Seals and O-rings
- Fittings and hardware
- Familiarity with parts room organization, inventory control, and storage systems.
- Ability to read part numbers, manufacturer catalogs, and basic mechanical drawings.
- Basic computer skills, including inventory software and Microsoft Office, are preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple requests in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting industrial manufacturing or packaging operations.
- Experience with CMMS systems such as SAP, Maximo, or similar inventory software.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to industrial maintenance and material handling.
