Supervisor / Team Lead – Quality Inspection (Automotive)Our client in Metro Detroit in We are seeking a dependable, experienced to oversee quality sorting, inspection, and rework operations within automotive manufacturing facilities across the Detroit metro area. This role requires a mature, reliable leader who can take ownership of job sites, lead inspection teams, and ensure customer quality standards are consistently met. Schedule
  • 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM 
  • 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM 
  • Monday through Friday, with weekends and additional hours as required by customer demand 
  • Flexibility to cover multiple shifts and locations is required 
 Service AreaThis position supports facilities located in:
  • Auburn Hills 
  • Warren 
  • St. Clair Shores 
  • Sterling Heights 
  • Troy 
Candidates should be local to or familiar with these areas and willing to travel between customer sites as needed. Position OverviewThe Supervisor / Team Lead is responsible for managing multiple inspection and containment jobs, leading teams of quality inspectors, and ensuring all customer requirements are met. This role requires prior quality inspection experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity within an automotive manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee containment, sorting, inspection, and rework activities at assigned workstations or job sites 
  • Lead inspection teams by example while maintaining organization and strong housekeeping practices 
  • Ensure all team members follow company health and safety policies and procedures 
  • Report any accidents, incidents, or safety concerns immediately 
  • Coordinate shift start-up activities, including table setup, materials, and paperwork preparation 
  • Complete end-of-shift responsibilities including paperwork audits, time tracking, and shift communication 
  • Ensure proper tools, materials, and work instructions are available for job completion 
  • Provide on-the-job training for new or updated work instructions 
  • Maintain accountability for all personnel assigned to job sites 
  • Provide performance feedback to Supervisors or Managers 
  • Report policy or procedural violations when necessary 
  • Support and comply with all company health and safety initiatives 
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or higher preferred) 
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or team lead experience in an automotive manufacturing environment preferred 
  • Prior quality inspection experience required 
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed 
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 35 lbs, and work in a manufacturing environment 
  • Basic math skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly instruct and lead others 
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently 
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel between customer locations
