Job Title: Supervisor/Team Lead
Position SummaryOur client in the Metro Detroit area is currently seeking an experienced Supervisor / Team Lead to oversee daily containment operations within an automotive manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for supervising laborers, ensuring customer product inspections meet quality standards, and maintaining safe, organized, and efficient workstations. The ideal candidate leads by example and demonstrates strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
Position SummaryOur client in the Metro Detroit area is currently seeking an experienced Supervisor / Team Lead to oversee daily containment operations within an automotive manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for supervising laborers, ensuring customer product inspections meet quality standards, and maintaining safe, organized, and efficient workstations. The ideal candidate leads by example and demonstrates strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the containment process, including supervision of laborers and inspection of customer products at assigned tables or workstations
- Lead by example while maintaining organization and proper housekeeping in all areas of the facility
- Ensure employees follow all company health and safety policies and procedures
- Immediately report any accidents or incidents to a Supervisor or Manager
- Coordinate shift start-up activities prior to start time (staffing, table requirements, paperwork, etc.)
- Ensure end-of-shift duties are completed, including auditing paperwork and time sheets and communicating critical information to the next shift Team Lead
- Ensure appropriate tools, materials, and supplies are available to complete assigned jobs
- Provide on-the-job training for new work instructions when required
- Maintain accountability for all personnel assigned to specific jobs
- Provide performance feedback and input to Supervisors or Managers
- Report policy or procedure violations as necessary
- Participate in and support all company health and safety initiatives
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree or higher preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience preferred
- Prior experience in an automotive-related manufacturing environment preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 lbs
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred
- Basic math skills required
- Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks thoroughly
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain procedures and instruct others
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as business needs require
