Job Description
Cardinal Staffing is currently hiring Steel Coil Packagers for a well know wire processing company in Romulus, MI!
Employees will be packaging steel wire and rod coils using steel or nylon strapping, operating forklifts (Hi-Lo), and ensuring materials are properly prepared and secured for shipment. The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and adherence to safety standards in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Employees will be packaging steel wire and rod coils using steel or nylon strapping, operating forklifts (Hi-Lo), and ensuring materials are properly prepared and secured for shipment. The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and adherence to safety standards in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Locate and package steel coils for shipping using steel or nylon strapping per customer specifications.
- Pull orders from inventory and stage finished products for final distribution.
- Deliver materials and supplies to designated work areas as needed.
- Maintain an organized and efficient materials storage area.
- Track inventory by labeling, recording, and reporting material usage or shortages.
- Support production flow by ensuring materials are available and accessible.
- Perform daily pre-use inspections on material-handling equipment.
- Safely operate a forklift (Hi-Lo) to move and load steel coils.
- Keep work areas, tools, and machinery clean and in safe working condition.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and quality standards.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred (not required).
- Previous experience in the steel industry or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Physically capable of lifting and maneuvering up to 50 lbs.
- Able to read and follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail with record-keeping skills.
- Forklift (Hi-Lo) experience required or willingness to train.
- Dependable attendance and willingness to work overtime as needed.
