Soldering Technician

Job Description

Cardinal Staffing Services is hiring experienced Soldering Technicians for a company in northern Tallahassee, FL.  In this position candidates will be working soldering equipment to solder small pieces of electronic equipment.   The ideal candidate for this role is looking for long-term employment, able to be reliable, and an excellent team member.  Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Use and clean solder iron and proper solder tips.
  • Rework all soldered through-hole components.
  • Inspect assemblies for defects such as wrong polarity, bridging, solder shorts, solder balls, excess solder, insufficient solder, etc.
  • Rework all soldered through-hole components
  • Keep a clean workstation.
  • Follow safety procedures in place including wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Other duties as required.
 Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Understanding of through-hole and SMT components: polarity, placement, etc.
  • Understanding of ESD handling requirements.
  • Understanding of MPI's and BOM's.
  • Understanding of different types of flux and solder.
  • Ability to use and clean solder iron and proper solder tips.
  • Be able to follow written and verbal instructions- blueprint reading experience is preferred.
  • Basic mathematical and counting ability.
  • Excellent attendance history and positive attitude.
