Job Description

Job Summary:Our client in Roseville, MI is seeking a Foam Skiver in their Foaming Department to assist in the fabrication and reworking of custom seat foam models for aircraft seating. This hands-on role involves interpreting full-scale drawings, selecting appropriate foam materials, and shaping them according to design specifications. We provide training for motivated individuals with a foundation in Blueprint Reading. Core Responsibilities:
  • Interpret and work from full-scale engineering drawings.
  • Select foam types based on ILD (Indentation Load Deflection) specifications.
  • Pull appropriate templates (acetate) to cut and shape foam parts.
  • Build new foam seat models or revise existing foam parts as needed.
  • Support compliance with RCO’s Quality Policies and standards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by department leadership.
 Qualifications:
  • Blueprint Reading – Required (education or prior experience).
  • Ability to work independently and follow technical instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new processes.
  • Experience working with foam, cutting tools, or similar materials is a plus but not required.
  • Able to lift and move foam materials and stand for extended periods.
 Preferred Skills (Not Required):
  • Prior experience in foam shaping, upholstery, or model building.
  • Familiarity with aerospace or automotive interior components.
  • Basic understanding of ILD ratings and material properties.
