Job Description
Cardinal Staffing is immediately hiring a Seat Complete Engineer for a large, well-known manufacturing client in Roseville, MI. The Seat Complete Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and integration of complete seat systems, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and aesthetic requirements. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams and customers to deliver high-quality seating solutions within program timelines.
1st shift Available start time 6am. Occasional overtime is available.Pay depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- Seat Design and Development: Lead the design and development of complete seat systems, including structure, foam, trim, mechanisms, and electronic components.
- Customer Collaboration: Work directly with customers to gather requirements, present design solutions, and address concerns throughout the development process.
- Validation and Testing: Oversee testing and validation of seat systems to ensure compliance with safety standards, performance criteria, and durability requirements.
- Supplier Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure components meet specifications, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
- Project Management: Manage seat system programs from concept through production launch, ensuring adherence to cost, timing, and quality targets.
- Problem-Solving: Address engineering challenges and implement innovative solutions to optimize seat functionality and manufacturability.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and BOMs (Bills of Materials).
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in seat system engineering, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, NX).
- Strong understanding of seat system design, safety standards, and testing procedures.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes for seating components, including metal forming, plastic injection molding, and foam molding.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Demonstrated capability to address design and manufacturing challenges effectively.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results within tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with regulatory and safety standards such as FMVSS, ECE, and other global requirements for seat systems.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
- Knowledge of NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) and comfort optimization for seat systems.
