Job Title: Saw OperatorJob Summary:Our client in Madison Heights, MI is seeking a dependable and hardworking Saw Operator to join their team. The ideal candidate is responsible for safely and efficiently cutting and packaging tube products.

Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate either saw at rated production levels
- Cut and deburr tube to ensure correct lengths, quality cuts, and proper packaging per order specifications
- Tack weld the ends of round tube bundles prior to cutting
- Load long lengths using an overhead crane and remove cut lengths with a forklift as necessary
- Cut, remove, replace, and crimp steel banding as required
- Accurately read and use micrometers, vernier calipers, radius gauges, and measuring tape
- Read and interpret cutting orders
- Complete all required saw paperwork accurately
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with:
- Shipping
- Material Handling
- Maintenance
- Assist with and develop saw procedures for all tube sizes
- Change saw blades and track blade life as needed
- Assist with saw maintenance as directed
- Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and efficient work environment
- Follow all written and verbal procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Ability to safely set up and operate industrial saw equipment
- Experience cutting and deburring steel tube or similar materials
- Ability to operate an overhead crane and forklift safely
- Proficiency using precision measuring instruments, including:
- Micrometers
- Vernier calipers
- Radius gauges
- Measuring tape
- Ability to read and interpret cutting orders and production documents
- Ability to complete production paperwork accurately
- Basic mechanical aptitude (blade changes, minor maintenance support)
