Sanitation Supervisor – 3rd Shift | Food Manufacturing | $28–$35/hr

Job Description

Cardinal Staffing is currently hiring an experienced Sanitation Supervisor for a food-grade manufacturing facility in Sandusky, OH. This is a full-time, third-shift opportunity with competitive pay and room for long-term growth. The ideal candidate will have previous sanitation experience in a food manufacturing environment, knowledge of FDA, USDA, GMP regulations, and at least 1 year of supervisory experience. 
  • Shift: 3rd Shift | 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM (Sunday–Thursday)
  • Pay Rate: $28.00–$35.00/hour (based on experience)
 Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and lead the sanitation crew on 3rd shift.
  • Maintain compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards (FDA, USDA, GMP, HACCP, SQF).
  • Train sanitation team members on proper cleaning procedures, chemical usage, PPE, and safety protocols.
  • Create and manage sanitation schedules in coordination with production requirements.
  • Perform regular inspections of equipment and facility cleanliness.
  • Maintain accurate sanitation logs, reports, and records for audits.
  • Ensure proper labeling, usage, and storage of chemicals and cleaning supplies.
  • Collaborate with QA, Maintenance, and Production departments to resolve sanitation-related issues.
  • Enforce safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Conduct audits and risk assessments to maintain sanitation standards.
 Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a supervisory or team lead role in a manufacturing or food production setting.
  • Strong knowledge of FDA, USDA, GMP, HACCP, and sanitation best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret SDS (Safety Data Sheets) and chemical handling instructions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working 3rd shift and flexible with overtime or weekends, if needed.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
 Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in cold, wet, or loud environments.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
