Join our team as a Welder at our client's manufacturing operation in Belvidere. This role involves performing various tasks such as fabrication, cutting materials, machining, and assembly. We are seeking dedicated individuals with a passion for precision and excellence.Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare materials for welding by grinding and degreasing parts.
- Interpret engineering drawings and work orders to fabricate parts using various welding processes such as GTAW (Tig), GMAW (Mig), and resistance spot welding.
- Set up welding conditions as per designated specifications.
- Drill holes and perform tapping as required.
- Prepare edges of materials for welding.
- Perform tasks such as sanding, matting, and frosting to ensure smooth weld joints.
- Bend pipes and cut metal parts.
- Ensure removal of soot, excess weld, and slag to meet quality standards.
- Verify and correct defects for optimal operational efficiency.
- Follow WPS and PQR guidelines according to AWS code welding standards.
- Repair welds to meet the necessary AWS code specifications.
- Adhere to all Company and Safety Policies.
- Collaborate with co-workers, management, and customers to resolve issues effectively.
- Perform additional metal fabrication and assembly tasks to fulfill customer orders.
- AWS (American Welding Society)certification required.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Good grammar and written/oral communication skills.
- Ability to obtain forklift certification.
- Understanding of blueprints and part numbers.
- Familiarity with loading fixtures.
- Knowledge of different welding machines.
- Cross-training in other workstations, including frame building, assembly, grinding, and final assembly.
- Training in inspection checklists.
- Familiarity with quality hold and reject processes.
- Cross-inspection techniques.
- Knowledge of 5's principles.
