Job Description
Our client in Sterling Heights, MI is seeking a detail-oriented Receiving Inspector to support incoming quality operations. This role is responsible for the inspection, verification, and accurate counting of incoming materials and components to ensure they meet company and customer specifications before being released to production. Key Responsibilities
- Perform full inspection of incoming materials and components to verify quality and compliance
- Accurately count and verify quantities against packing slips, purchase orders, and shipping documents
- Inspect materials using inspection tools, gauges, and measuring equipment as required
- Identify and document non-conforming materials, and support quarantine/containment processes
- Ensure all incoming products meet quality standards and specifications before release to production
- Maintain accurate inspection records and receiving documentation
- Work closely with purchasing, warehouse, and quality teams to resolve discrepancies
- Support supplier quality issues and communicate defects or shortages
- Follow all safety procedures and company quality standards
- Assist with inventory control and material handling as needed
- Previous experience as a Receiving Inspector, Quality Inspector, or Warehouse Inspector
- Experience with incoming inspection and material verification/counting
- Familiarity with inspection tools and measuring equipment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially with counts and documentation
- Ability to read and interpret packing slips, purchase orders, and basic prints
- Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse or manufacturing environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in automotive or manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of ISO quality standards
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Plex, etc.)
- Forklift experience or certification (a plus)
- Basic blueprint reading and dimensional inspection experience
