Cardinal Staffing is partnered with a local manufacturing warehouse looking for a experienced Quality Manager in Holt, MI.
General Responsibility:
Plans, coordinates, and directs quality assurance program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through delegating essential duties. Formulate new quality standards and define corrective action.
Essential Functions:
Responsibilities of the Quality Manager will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Creates and manages the process for inspections of products before they leave for shipment.
- Applies total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes within each department.
- Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
- Ensuring that manufacturing processes comply with company standards and/or specifications.
- Tracking products through the manufacturing process to guarantee that each part of the process is correct.
- Designs and implements quality control training programs for key personnel in conjunction with managers to maximize profitability.
- Creating and maintaining a log of quality issues.
- Maintain ISO quality system and complete audits to maintain certification and continuous improvement.
- Identify and maintain QMS system for all customers and product types.
- Manage the RMA process between internal operations and customers.
- Strives for continuous improvement in overall defect-reduction, monitors defect-reduction procedure effectiveness, and implements appropriate adjustments.
- Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.
- Monitor scrap rates to determine trends and areas of improvement.
Safety
- Personally accountable for preventing injury and illness to self and for protecting Company assets.
- Acceptance of this full safety responsibility, personal alertness and following plant safety rules is mandatory.
- Every injury sustained or even suspected while on the job must be reported immediately to your direct supervisor.
- Be familiar with all chemicals used in your assigned area and understand any injury or health problem potential inherent in the use or handling of such chemicals.
- Know the location, use and purpose of all safety equipment in your work area.
- All emergency equipment, fire doors and emergency exit routes are to be kept unobstructed and in good condition.
- Adhere to personal protection guidelines set forth by the company.
- Maintain a sense of orderliness, keeping materials, supplies, and equipment well organized and in good condition.
- Ensure the work area is clean and free from safety hazards.
- Assist with janitorial duties daily – sweep, clean, and trash removal.
- All guards must be in place prior to routine operation of any equipment and must be inspected daily.
- Complete required tasks, quotas, and assignments prior to or within deadlines given.
- Treat all coworkers professionally, fairly, and respectfully.
- Responding politely to the clients we serve.
- Work as a member of a team.
- Uphold all company core values.
- Think quickly and act appropriately in emergency situations.
- Put in extra hours when needed.
- Continue to perform well under pressure and adapt to change.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of standing.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to perform basic turning and body movements.
- Ability to work in a hot environment.
- Ability to work in a dusty environment.
- Ability to work with hazardous chemicals.
- Must be able to wear proper PPE. (Respirator, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective coveralls.)
- To implement and adhere to all written policies and philosophies of National Composites, LLC.
- Attend meetings as requested.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Pay
- Salary $60,000 - $65,000/yr
