Direct Hire- Press Operator2nd Shift- 4pm-2:30amLocation- Sterling Heights
Rate- $19.32/hr (Increase at Day 90 and after 1 year with a comprehensive benefit package)

Responsibilities:
- Perform coil changes, aligning dies, steel, feeders, and securing equipment as necessary.
- Set up peripheral equipment such as guards, conveyors, lubricators, and unloading devices.
- Conduct related tasks to clean up, set up, and organize work areas.
- Facilitate activities within work cells to achieve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) targets.
- Support Environmental Management System (EMS) objectives.
- Assist in MAFACT implementation and promote lean manufacturing practices.
- Implement and maintain 5S workplace organization standards.
- Complete and maintain necessary paperwork including white boards, quality checks, production reports, and checklists.
- Follow standard work procedures and actively contribute to improving them.
- Participate in Kaizen workshops to reduce process waste and enhance safety.
- Obtain first piece approval before completing die setups.
- Ensure adherence to safety and quality startup procedures.
- Produce parts according to customer specifications and conduct required quality checks using measuring devices.
- Assist Die Setters with changeovers and perform minor adjustments like finger adjustments.
- Adhere to tagging and labeling requirements.
- Immediately report injuries, accidents, equipment malfunctions, and other incidents to Team Leaders.
- Accurately report production details including coil ends.
- Communicate effectively with team members (Supervisors, Leaders, Quality, and Co-workers) regarding machine issues, understanding causes and appropriate contacts (Maintenance, Quality).
- Authorized to halt processes that fail to meet quality or safety standards and notify Supervisors or Quality promptly.
- Support on-the-job training for other press operators during non-cyclic assignments.
- Attend and actively participate in team and employee meetings.
- Treat team members with respect in accordance with the Magna Employee’s Charter and Values.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities and submit improvement suggestions related to continuous improvement and safety.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures including IATF16949, ISO14001 (EMS), MAFACT, and the Employee Handbook.
- Follow MIOSHA and MPTSH safety regulations and policies, including wearing required PPE and adhering to Lockout procedures. Report unsafe conditions to Supervisors or Leaders.
- Fulfill responsibilities related to environmental management according to MPT’s Environmental Management System (EMS) and ISO 14001.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in a press or die setting environment.
- Knowledge of safety protocols, quality standards, and production processes.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and safety practices.
