Plant Manager – Manufacturing
Cardinal Staffing is looking for a Plant Manager for one of their clients in Taylor, MI!
The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall supervision, management, and performance of a manufacturing department, including employees, production schedules, customer coordination, and operational efficiency. This role provides leadership to ensure production goals, quality standards, and delivery timelines are consistently met.
Day Shift -6am start time Pay- Up to $30 per hour

The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall supervision, management, and performance of a manufacturing department, including employees, production schedules, customer coordination, and operational efficiency. This role provides leadership to ensure production goals, quality standards, and delivery timelines are consistently met.
Day Shift -6am start time Pay- Up to $30 per hour
- Supervise and manage department employees and daily operations
- Prepare, adjust, and manage department schedules
- Assign workstations and delegate tasks to meet production demands
- Train, coach, and evaluate production personnel
- Coordinate machine setups and workflow
- Monitor production output to ensure on-time completion and shipment
- Perform production duties as needed to meet schedules
- Transport raw materials to and from work areas when required
- Communicate production status and shipment timelines internally and to customers
- Participate in customer status meetings throughout the production process
- Maintain and service designated customer accounts
- Identify and interact with new customers as needed
- Participate in quoting, follow-up, and customer negotiations
- Assist in mediating disputes with customers or shippers, including account issues
- Attend management meetings and contribute to operational planning
- Perform additional department management duties as assigned
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to manage, train, and evaluate production employees
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to delegate responsibilities and set clear priorities
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Commitment to continuous improvement, efficiency, and quality
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with employees, management, and customers
- Proficiency in basic computer systems and electronic data tracking
- Manufacturing and department-specific equipment
- Occasional forklift use
- Computer, telephone, and related technology
- Full-time position: 40 hours per week, 5 days per week
- Overtime required based on production schedules
- Standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, and climbing
- Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs
- Manual dexterity for machinery operation and computer use
- Ability to coordinate multiple movements simultaneously
- Education and/or equivalent experience managing production employees
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, plans, and specifications
- Manufacturing environment
- Required use of safety equipment (safety glasses, appropriate footwear, etc.)
- Loose-fitting clothing and jewelry not permitted
- Consistently meet department quality, production, and delivery requirements
- Ensure department output meets all technical and time specifications
