Job Description
Cardinal Staffing is currently looking for Banders and Packagers for a well known steel facility in Canton Township, MI.
The job entails packaging steel coils, sheets, and bundles to customer spec, using banding/strapping tools, wrap, lumber reinforcement, and tags. Operate hi/lo (forklift) and overhead crane to stage/move material. Ensure finished goods look “Christmas-present” clean and meet quality + safety standards.
Pay is $17.00 per hour
Shift is 6:00am-2:30pm 5-6 days a week.

The job entails packaging steel coils, sheets, and bundles to customer spec, using banding/strapping tools, wrap, lumber reinforcement, and tags. Pay is $17.00 per hour
Shift is 6:00am-2:30pm 5-6 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Band/strap coils, sheets, and skids; cinch/crimp using strapping tool; apply plastic wrap/paper as directed.
- Weigh and count lifts; verify against work orders; record counts; complete ship tags and labels.
- Operate hi/lo and crane to move material; cut lumber/reinforcements and build protective skids.
- Inspect material, identify NCM, and notify supervisors/shipping as needed; maintain 5S work area.
- Use measuring tools (tape, mic, caliper); read charts/work instructions; understand inventory tags.
- Must-Have Skills
- Read/interpret work orders & specs; basic math + tape measure.
- Safe forklift/overhead crane operation (or willingness to certify).
- Multitask across orders without sacrificing quality; strong housekeeping/5S habits.
Physical / Environment: - Stand/walk frequently; lift/move 25 lb frequently (up to ~40 lb occasionally).
- Loud industrial environment; exposure to moving mechanical parts; PPE required.
- Nice-to-Have
- Familiarity with ISO/quality tags (MC/WIP/FG), RTS comments, and JSA basics.
- Eye for presentation—produce tidy, damage-free, “customer-ready” packages.
