Job Description
Cardinal Staffing is currently looking for packagers/steel banders for our client in Canton, MI!
Shift is 6am-3pm Monday-Friday
Pay is $17 an hour
Fastens metal bands around palletized or standing material prior to storage or shipment by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Wraps band around stack, bundle, or coil, inserts loose end of banding material into strapping tool, and cinches and crimps banding material and clamp with strapping tool to secure articles during storage or shipment.
• Weighs and counts number of lifts to be banded to verify number specified on work order.
• Counts and records number of banded bundles or skids.
• Uses plastic wrap or paper as directed.
• Operates hi/lo lift truck or crane to move articles before or after bundling.
• Cuts lumber or other reinforcing material and includes reinforcing material in bundle or nails lumber together to protect articles during storage or shipment.
• Completes ship tag, inspects material and packages it to ensure customer requirements are met. Initials tags in area specified on tag coupon. Once it’s passed final inspection signs off if he/she is on approved inspectors list. Notifies supervisory team or shipping team if NCM is discovered.
