Cardinal Staffing is currently seeking Outdoor General Laborers for an outdoor metal scrapyard facility in Belleville, MI.
**FLEX SHIFT which means you MUST be open to working BOTH 1st and 2nd shift**
1st shift    = 5AM - 3PM   Monday - Thursday2nd shift  = 3PM - 1AM    Monday - Thursday
BOTH SHIFTS work 4 days a week, 10 hours a day. You may be asked to work a Friday about once monthly for equipment maintenance.

The purpose of this job is to sort through and remove any demolished car parts that are not made of steel or metal.
Essential Functions of Job:
  • Working in an enclosed, outdoor facility
  • Sorting and cleaning scrap metal parts on conveyor belts
  • doing routine maintenance in the facility to maintain equipment
  • Cleaning the work area
  • Operating a Forklift (possibly, if you have that experience)
  • Shoveling scrap into various bins for processing
  • Other duties as assigned by Plant Management
Qualifications and Skills required to carry out the essential functions include the ability to:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of General Labor experience
  • Forklift experience is a definite plus, but not necessary
  • Must be able to work 12 hour shifts and overtime as needed
  • Must be able to lift on a continuous basis (up to 50 lbs)
  • Excellent work history and attendance is a MUST!

Overtime to accommodate production schedules may be required.  Physical requirements which are part of the essential functions: Standing, sitting, moving, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs, push/pull up to 50 lbs, bending, stooping hearing or equivalent, sight-visual acuity.Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers including fine, highly controlled muscular movements to adjust the position of a control mechanism; skillful, controlled manipulations of small objects; coordinating the movement of more than one limb simultaneously and bending or stooping repeatedly or continually over time.  Mental requirements which are part of the essential functions: The ability to read and understand work instruction plans, diagrams and specifications.Effectively communicate and interact with others.  Educational and or prior experience requirements include: High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years relevant experience.
