Job Description

Come work for our client in Union IL, who is a printed bag supplier, specializing in non-woven, PET non-woven, paper, plastic, polyester, laminated, cotton/jute, and mesh bags, as well as ribbon, bows and tissue. They offer a wide variety of creative bag styles and numerous versatile imprint methods to meet customer needs.

Title: Maintainance Technician

Location: Union IL (20 min from Belvidere)

Shift: Second Shift 1: 30pm-11pm (Must be able to train on first shift)

Pay range: $17-$22


Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic troubleshoots, identifies root cause of problem and performs needed repair on malfunctioning equipment. Performs routine preventative maintenance on equipment. May assist or back-up on building maintenance and repairs


  • Troubleshoot to determine root cause of equipment failure and perform corrective repairs.
  • Good understanding of troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatics controls.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and pneumatic schematics, mechanical blue prints, safety instructions, and operating manuals.
  • Disassembles machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
  • Repairs, replaces, adjusts, and aligns components of machinery and equipment.
  • Test runs repaired machinery and equipment to verify adequacy of repairs.
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Assists in other building maintenance or repair activities as needed.
  • Mechanically inclined, able to work independently or in a team.
  • High School/Trade School Diploma or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Use power tools & hand tools.
  • Knowledgeable with the use of test and measuring equipment (electrical multi-meters, micrometers, calipers) as required to perform maintenance work.


Diversified background in machine repair and some general building maintenance. Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and electric systems required. Ability to read and understand blue prints, electrical schematics, understand theory of printing, OSHA and safety training. Knowledge with heating and air conditioning, woodworking and plumbing is helpful.

  • Eligible for promotion to various positions throughout the company, depending upon individual skills and qualifications.

  • Ability to understand and express ideas effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work with a variety of skilled/unskilled, professional and administrative personnel.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
