Job Description:   Maintenance Technician
 About the Role
 Our client in Madison Heights, MI is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support the safe and efficient operation of their facility. This role is critical in maintaining equipment uptime, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring high-quality production of steel tubing. Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues to minimize downtime 
  • Support production teams to improve uptime and reduce scrap 
  • Maintain and organize spare parts inventory and maintenance areas 
  • Read and use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.) 
  • Assist with setup charts, procedures, and equipment adjustments 
  • Conduct plant safety audits and follow all safety protocols 
  • Train and assist other maintenance personnel as needed 
  • Perform welding, basic electrical work, and general mechanical repairs 
  • Communicate effectively with production and leadership teams 
 Qualifications
  • Experience in industrial maintenance (mechanical & electrical) 
  • Strong troubleshooting skills 
  • Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools 
  • Welding and fabrication experience preferred 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Comfortable working at heights when required 
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality 
 Additional Requirements
  • Must supply and maintain your own tools (locking toolbox required) 
  • Willingness to work overtime, including occasional Saturdays 
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions 
 Work Environment & SafetyThis role involves working around industrial equipment and requires adherence to strict safety protocols, including:
  • PPE (gloves, safety glasses, hard hat, etc.) 
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures 
  • Working near moving equipment, cranes, and welding operations
