Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Shift: 3rd Shift (10pm-7am)
Location:  Ferndale (Food Production Facility)Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that all production equipment, machinery, and facility systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. This role supports a fast-paced food manufacturing environment and plays a key part in minimizing downtime and maintaining product quality.Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment, conveyors, packaging machines, mixers, chillers, boilers, and refrigeration systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues quickly to keep production running.
  • Complete work orders, equipment inspections, and documentation according to GMP and safety standards.
  • Monitor and repair facility systems, including plumbing, lighting, HVAC, and general building maintenance.
  • Adhere to all food safety, GMP, PPE, and sanitation requirements at all times.
  • Assist in equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Communicate equipment concerns or needed repairs to supervisors and production leads.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support food safety compliance.
  • Support emergency repairs during overnight production when needed.  
Qualifications:
  • Previous maintenance experience in a food manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, or multi-craft skills.
  • Ability to read schematics, manuals, and equipment diagrams.
  • Understanding of PLCs, sensors, motors, and basic electrical troubleshooting a plus.
  • Knowledge of GMP, food safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to work independently on 3rd shift with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, bend, stand, and work in cold or wet environments.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Reliable transportation and strong attendance required.
