Location: Ferndale (Food Production Facility)Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that all production equipment, machinery, and facility systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. This role supports a fast-paced food manufacturing environment and plays a key part in minimizing downtime and maintaining product quality.Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment, conveyors, packaging machines, mixers, chillers, boilers, and refrigeration systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues quickly to keep production running.
- Complete work orders, equipment inspections, and documentation according to GMP and safety standards.
- Monitor and repair facility systems, including plumbing, lighting, HVAC, and general building maintenance.
- Adhere to all food safety, GMP, PPE, and sanitation requirements at all times.
- Assist in equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
- Use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively.
- Communicate equipment concerns or needed repairs to supervisors and production leads.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to support food safety compliance.
- Support emergency repairs during overnight production when needed.
- Previous maintenance experience in a food manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, or multi-craft skills.
- Ability to read schematics, manuals, and equipment diagrams.
- Understanding of PLCs, sensors, motors, and basic electrical troubleshooting a plus.
- Knowledge of GMP, food safety, and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work independently on 3rd shift with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, bend, stand, and work in cold or wet environments.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance required.
