Location: Brownstown, Michigan Job Type: Full time, contract to hire Shift: 1st shift 7am-4pm Monday-Friday Pay Rate: $24 per hour
Job Summary:
Cardinal Staffing Services are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Machine Shop Hand to support daily operations in a fast-paced machine shop environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating machinery and must be certified to operate a forklift. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
· Operate a variety of machine shop equipment including saws, grinders, presses, and CNC/manual machines
· Load and unload raw materials and finished parts using a forklift
· Inspect parts for quality and conformance to specifications using measuring tools
· Assist machinists with setup, clean-up, and production support as needed
· Keep the shop clean and organized; remove scrap and debris from workstations
· Follow safety procedures and wear proper protective equipment at all times
· Perform minor maintenance on machines and report issues to supervisor
· Support shipping/receiving and inventory handling tasks as needed
Requirements:
· Experience operating machine shop equipment (manual or CNC)
· Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain one
· Ability to read basic blueprints and use measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, tape measures)
· Comfortable lifting 50 lbs and standing for extended periods
· Strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detail
· High school diploma or GED preferred
