Job Description
Cardinal Staffing Services is hiring for Lead Preschool Teacher positions in Tallahassee, FL. As a Lead Preschool Teacher for Cardinal Staffing Services, you will be working for a faith-based preschool in a classroom setting providing preschool level-education for young children.Pay is $16 per hour with potential for growth based on experience/skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organizes and provides developmentally appropriate early childhood education programs; plans and implements curriculum and education for preschool children.
- Provides activities and opportunities that encourage curiosity, exploration, and problem solving appropriate to the developmental levels and learning styles of children.
- Plans and prepares classroom setting; supervises children in the classroom; provides a supportive environment in which children can learn and practice appropriate and acceptable individual and group behaviors.
- Interacts with parents; maintains open and cooperative communication with parents and families, encouraging their involvement in the program and supporting the child's family relationships.
- Participates in research programs concerned with improvements in preschool teaching methods, as appropriate.
- May lead, guide, and train staff/student employees, interns, and/or volunteers performing related work.
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
- A two-year degree or higher from an accredited college or university with at least 6 credit hours in Early Childhood Education or Child Development is preferred.
- DCF-45 pre-completion is preferred, or classwork as mandated by the Department of Children and Families (DCF) to be completed during the first year (training provided by employer).
- Current First Aid and CPR training or be willing to be trained/certified within first 90 days (training provided by employer).
- Literacy and Safe Sleep course is beneficial.
- At least 2 years’ prior experience working with children in an early childhood education setting.
- Commitment to pursuing a higher-level degree (such as AA, AS, BA, BS, MA, etc.) in the field of early childhood education (employer education assistance is available).
- Is supportive of early childhood organizations.
- Manifests a concern and love for children expressed daily in interactions.
- Should consider herself/himself a leader, responsible for the care and education of children.
- Ability to effectively interact with children and parents.
- Ability to evaluate, design, and implement curriculum.
- Knowledge of early childhood education programs and techniques.
- Knowledge of child development theory and practice.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to provide activities for children that encourage healthy growth.
- Knowledge of applicable safety procedures.
- Ability to provide a supportive and caring environment for children.
- Ability to exercise control and maintain classroom discipline.
