This role is responsible for the setup and operation of CNC Gun Drill machines, with a focus on producing high-quality aluminum and steel components. Cardinal Staffing is seeking a skilled CNC Gun Drill Operator to join our precision machining team. This role is responsible for the setup and operation of CNC Gun Drill machines, with a focus on producing high-quality aluminum and steel components. Candidates must be proficient in CAM programming and blueprint interpretation to ensure accuracy and efficiency in all operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate IMSA and Tarus CNC Gun Drill machines to drill, bore, ream, mill, or countersink workpieces
- Create and edit machining programs using VISI software
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering instructions
- Accurately measure and inspect parts using precision tools and gauges
- Calibrate, maintain, and perform routine checks on CNC machinery and tools
- Convert job instructions into machine-readable code using Fanuc or Heidenhain controls
- Replace or repair worn and damaged tools as necessary
- Communicate job status and progress with team members and supervisors
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience as a CNC Gun Drill Operator or similar CNC machining role
- Proficiency in CAM software (VISI preferred)
- Familiarity with Fanuc and Heidenhain control systems
- Ability to set up and fixture parts in the machine independently
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and dimensional inspection
- Excellent attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus
