Job Description
Cardinal Staffing is seeking General Laborers (Slitter Helper) for a Steel Facility in New Boston, MI!

1st Shift--5am-3pm 2nd shift--3:00PM - 1:00AM
Monday - Friday Weekly Pay
Some overtime may be required if production needs increase.
Pay: $17.-$17.40 per hour
**MUST provide an updated resume that shows RECENT work history**
Hire-In opportunity after 90 Days (based on attendance and performance)
Full Benefits available after direct hire-In date
The purpose of this job is to perform miscellaneous general labor activities, including pulling parts off a laser machine.
Essential Functions of Job:
- The essential functions of the job and skills required include:
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs consistently throughout shift
- Assisting Steel Slitters with slitting sheet metal down to customer-specified sizes
- Banding steel coils and preparing for shipment
- Working on a shear with the other operators, and helping as needed
- Looking for defects on the material as it moves on the line
- Setting up skids
- Maintaining a clean and organized work station, for the safety of yourself and others
- Must be able to read & speak English fluently
- Must be team-oriented, and work well with others
- STEEL TOE BOOTS/SHOES REQUIRED
- Excellent work history and attendance a must!

Attendance/Hours required as part of the essential functions:
Full time, 40 hour, 5 day work week. Overtime to accommodate production schedules may be required.
Physical requirements which are part of the essential functions:
Standing, sitting, moving, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs, push/pull up to 50 lbs, bending, stooping hearing or equivalent, sight-visual acuity.
Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers including fine, highly controlled muscular movements to adjust the position of a control mechanism; skillful, controlled manipulations of small objects; coordinating the movement of more than one limb simultaneously and bending or stooping repeatedly or continually over time.
Mental requirements which are part of the essential functions:
The ability to read and understand work instruction plans, diagrams and specifications.
Effectively communicate and interact with others.
Educational and or prior experience requirements include:
High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years relevant experience. The ability to read and understand work instruction plans, diagrams and specifications.
