Job Description

Cardinal Staffing is immediately staffing for a General Laborer in Taylor, MI.  2nd shift = 3PM – 11PM         Mon.-Fri.            $16.30/hr Some overtime may be required if production needs increase. The purpose of this job is to perform miscellaneous general labor activities, including pulling parts off a laser machine. Essential Functions of Job:  The essential functions of the job include:
  1. Operating machinery and equipment as directed; pulling parts off the laser machine
  2. Counting parts accurately that are produced by various machines and equipment
  3. ID parts where required; processing parts (clean, finish, assemble, package and transport)
  4. Cleaning and other general shop tasks
  5. Performing other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
 Skills required to carry out the essential functions include the ability to:
  1. Understand and follow directions and rules
  2. Safely and effectively operate various machinery and equipment
  3. Produce (quality and quantity) parts that meet specifications and expected output levels
  4. Visually identify and correct deficiencies in parts produced
  5. Interact appropriately and collaborate with fellow employees and management
  6. Communicate effectively (written and oral) with other employees and management
  7. Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality customer service
  8. Work efficiently in a fast paced manufacturing environment with the flexibility to prioritize duties and multi-task at different levels
  9. Qualified candidates would need to be comfortable standing and lifting parts for long periods of time.
  10. Excellent work history and attendance a must!

All temporary employees are offered competitive compensation as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental and vision). Attendance/Hours required as part of the essential functions: Full time, 40 hour, 5 day work week. Overtime to accommodate production schedules may be required.  Physical requirements which are part of the essential functions: Standing, sitting, moving, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs, push/pull up to 50 lbs, bending, stooping hearing or equivalent, sight-visual acuity.Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers including fine, highly controlled muscular movements to adjust the position of a control mechanism; skillful, controlled manipulations of small objects; coordinating the movement of more than one limb simultaneously and bending or stooping repeatedly or continually over time.  Mental requirements which are part of the essential functions: The ability to read and understand work instruction plans, diagrams and specifications.Effectively communicate and interact with others.  Educational and or prior experience requirements include: High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years relevant experience.
