Compounder-Retail/Contractor
 Cardinal Staffing is seeking a Compound mixer for an asphalt maintenance company in Sandusky, OH. 
Hours: 4-10hr days Starting pay $15 with increase after 2 weeks $17.00 based on performance and attendance. 
Job DescriptionExecutes the daily work plans to produce sealer in a commercial mixer, for all water-based contractor, retail and franchise sealant products, produced at the Sandusky location. Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities. Manages day-to-day operational aspects of all personnel, equipment and machinery in this area.  Follows a defined batch and operates a mechanical mixer following the specific procedures and processes, while producing documentation and verifying the quality of the batch through the QC personnel assigned to this area. Troubleshoots operational issues and notifies maintenance department for prompt resolution of equipment malfunctions beyond the capabilities of the sealer production team.  Coordinates directly with his supervisor on any issues affecting his ability to make the batch, or pump the batch out to storage tanks.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 
  • Communicate with Supervisor to find out which batches to make and what tank it will go into
  • Make sure to have all materials needed before starting to make batch
  • Communicate with tow motor to get any materials needed
  • Check temperatures on all necessary raw materials (hot water, tar, asphalt)
  • Check all valves to ensure they are all closed before starting batch
  • Record all ingredients added while making batch, including amounts and weights.
  • After completing batch take a sample to lab for testing.
  • Get approval from lab tech
  • After batch is complete open valves needed to pump product into proper tank
  • Begin pumping batch, stay alert during this process to ensure process goes as planned and continue clean-up of area
  • After pumping is complete close all valves then check with supervisor to see what product is needed next

Skills Must be able to perform simple math calculations, read a clock and perform simple math computations without a calculator. Language Skills                      Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to communicate effectively with other employees within the organization. Reasoning Ability                      Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
