Job Summary:
The Composites Technician is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing composite parts and structures used in aerospace applications. This role involves working with advanced composite materials such as carbon fiber, fiberglass, and honeycomb core to build high-quality components that meet strict aerospace specifications.

This role involves working with advanced composite materials such as carbon fiber, fiberglass, and honeycomb core to build high-quality components that meet strict aerospace specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lay up composite materials (e.g., carbon fiber, fiberglass, Kevlar) in molds or on tooling according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Perform bagging, vacuum, and oven/autoclave curing operations to bond and shape composite parts.
- Trim, drill, sand, and finish cured components to meet quality and dimensional specifications.
- Inspect materials and finished parts for defects such as delamination, porosity, or foreign object damage (FOD).
- Accurately follow travelers, process sheets, and quality documentation.
- Mix and apply adhesives, resins, and sealants safely and according to specifications.
- Operate hand and power tools used in composite fabrication.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment and follow all FOD prevention and ESD control requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve build issues.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100, FAA, and company quality standards.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school in composites, manufacturing, or aerospace preferred.
- 1+ year of experience in composite lay-up, bonding, or assembly (aerospace or related industry).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Familiarity with composite manufacturing processes including prepreg layup, vacuum bagging, and autoclave operation.
- Skilled with basic hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and power equipment.
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and wear required PPE.
