Job Description
Cardinal Staffing is partnered with an automotive facility in West Lansing, MI. They are looking to add 2 experienced forklift drivers to their team! Material Handlers are responsible for the efficient movement, storage, and delivery of raw materials, parts, and finished products within an automotive facility. This role supports production operations by ensuring that all materials are correctly received, inventoried, and delivered to the appropriate departments in a timely and safe manner!
This role is for the 2nd shift, with start times at 2:00 p.m. and shifts lasting up to 12 hours. It offers opportunities for overtime, long-term employment, and both career and financial growth within the company. $20.50/hr. to start, with a $2 pay increase upon hire in.

Key Responsibilities:
- Material Movement & Handling
- Transport raw materials, components, and finished goods to designated locations using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
- Supply production lines with materials and remove finished goods and waste.
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules.
- Inventory Control
- Perform inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Accurately scan, label, and track materials using inventory management systems (e.g., ERP or barcode systems).
- Store materials in designated locations, maintaining organization and adherence to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) practices.
- Receiving & Shipping
- Receive incoming shipments, inspect for damage and accuracy, and document appropriately.
- Prepare materials for shipping, including packaging, labeling, and documentation.
- Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure smooth flow of materials.
- Safety & Compliance
- Operate material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Comply with all company safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and automotive industry standards.
- Report any unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or incidents promptly.
- Previous experience in material handling, warehouse, or logistics, preferably in an automotive or manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, shipping labels, and material tags
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to complete forklift certification training
