Job Description

Cardinal Staffing Service is seeking a Finance Controller for a reputable manufacturing company in New Boston, MI. As the CFO's strategic right-hand and designated successor, you'll drive financial excellence, and partner directly with the owner on daily, monthly and yearly operations and oversight. This role is designed for rapid progression to replace the CFO. This is a direct hire role offering a salary of $100,000 or higher per year based on experience. More information is available upon interview.  Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Operational Excellence: Oversee and perform financial operations for a $35M operation, including payroll, accounting, compliance, and vendor management.
  • Drive Accurate Reporting: Deliver timely, compliant financial statements and ensure regulatory adherence.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Build and mentor a high-performing finance team; promoting innovation, accountability, and efficiency.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement creative solutions to streamline financial systems, targeting measurable cost savings and productivity gains.
 Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Must-Have: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field; 3+ years in accounting or progressive finance roles.
  • Preferred: Manufacturing industry background; MBA, CPA, or CMA certification; management experience.
 Skills & Competencies:
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Profit 21, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Microsoft Office Suite; hands-on experience across full-cycle accounting (payroll, AP/AR, invoicing, taxes, audits, insurance).
  • Strategic & Leadership: Ability to turn data into business insights; exceptional communication and influence skills; strong organizational and multitasking prowess in fast-paced settings.
