Hydraulic Cylinder Technician / Machine Shop Hand
Location: Trenton, MI
Shift:8am-430pm Monday-Friday
Pay: $23-$25 BOE
Primary Purpose & Function
Perform hands-on repair and rebuilding of hydraulic cylinders by disassembling, inspecting, and reassembling components to restore proper function and performance.Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Primary Purpose & Function
Perform hands-on repair and rebuilding of hydraulic cylinders by disassembling, inspecting, and reassembling components to restore proper function and performance.Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Disassemble hydraulic cylinders and related components using proper tools and techniques
- Inspect parts (barrels, rods, pistons, glands, seals) for wear, damage, or failure
- Measure components using calipers, micrometers, and precision tools to determine repair or replacement needs
- Reassemble hydraulic cylinders to specification, ensuring proper sealing and function
- Maintain accurate documentation of repairs and parts used
- Follow shop safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace (5S standards)
- Collaborate with team members and learn from experienced technicians and foreman
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on repair experience
- Experience with hydraulic systems or fluid power components preferred but not required (willing to train)
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings/specifications
- Familiarity with torque specs, seals, and hydraulic tools is a plus
- Experience using micrometers and calipers
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Stand for extended periods
- Use hand and power tools regularly
- Industrial shop setting with exposure to hydraulic fluids, cleaning agents, and machinery
- Fast-paced, production-driven environment with strong focus on safety and quality
