Job Description
Are you seeking a new long-term career? Cardinal Staffing is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic for an excavation and infrastructure facility in Webberville, MI. In this role the technician will perform diagnostic work, mechanical repairs, and preventative maintenance on Class 8 trucks and various specialty equipment. Starting wage of $28.50/hr. | Monday–Friday (2nd Shift: Noon–Midnight; may include 2 Saturdays/month) Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:

- Perform maintenance and repair on Class 8 trucks and related equipment.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues using laptop-based diagnostic tools.
- Use multiple diagnostic systems to analyze and complete repairs.
- Maintain shop cleanliness and complete repair orders accurately.
- Respond to dispatch or drivers when breakdowns occur in the field.
- Perform DOT inspections and ensure safety compliance.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and service engine, brake, suspension, and hydraulic systems.
- Maintain an organized work area and follow safety protocols.
- Other duties assigned.
- Proven experience working on Class 8 trucks (required)
- Diagnostic software experience and laptop proficiency
- Welding experience is a plus
- Experience with CAT/Volvo equipment is a plus
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong English communication skills for safety and reporting
- While performing the required duties, the employee is regularly required to speak, hear, stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach. Other requirements may including lifting, bending, twisting, and more.
