Cardinal Staffing has a new role for a Coil & Wire Drawing Machine Operator!
As a Coil & Wire Drawing Machine Operator, you will operate wire drawing machines to sustain high production of drawn wire while adhering to all safety and quality standards. You’ll collaborate primarily with departmental co‑workers to deliver superior-quality wire that meets customer specifications. A great candidate for this position would be someone who has previously worked in a steel mill.
Pay is $18 per hour
Shift is a 1st shift 7am-330pm

Job Description
Cardinal Staffing has a new role for a Coil & Wire Drawing Machine Operator!
As a Coil & Wire Drawing Machine Operator, you will operate wire drawing machines to sustain high production of drawn wire while adhering to all safety and quality standards. You’ll collaborate primarily with departmental co‑workers to deliver superior-quality wire that meets customer specifications. A great candidate for this position would be someone who has previously worked in a steel mill.
Pay is $18 per hour
Shift is a 1st shift 7am-330pm
Key Responsibilities
- Work safely by following all plant procedures and promptly report concerns to supervisory staff.
- Own production quality—ensure no surface defects, wire cleanliness, and proper size.
- Read and follow written work instructions to meet customer demand; use a computer for inventory tracking and product traceability.
- Thread up and operate wire drawing machines.
- Select proper die set‑ups to achieve required wire size and quality.
- Move steel coils and spools using an industrial fork truck to source raw material and move finished goods to subsequent processes or storage.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- High school diploma preferred (not mandatory).
- Mechanical aptitude for routine set‑up and maintenance on drawing machines.
- Physical ability to maneuver up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and keep neat, accurate records.
- Ability to drive and operate an industrial fork truck.
- Consistent attendance and willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to work in hot & cold temperatures
