Job Description
Cardinal Staffing is immediately hiring a Carbon Inspector for a large, well-known manufacturing client in Roseville, MI. The Carbon Inspector's responsible for ensuring the quality and precision of carbon fiber components produced within the client advanced manufacturing operations. This role involves inspecting parts for adherence to specifications, identifying defects, and collaborating with production teams to uphold customer and client high-quality standards.
1st shift Available start time 6am. Occasional overtime is available.Starting Pay: $18-$21/hr depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- Inspection Duties: Perform detailed inspections of carbon fiber components to verify compliance with technical drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Measurement and Testing: Use specialized tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and non-destructive testing methods to evaluate dimensions, thickness, and structural integrity.
- Defect Identification: Identify and document defects or irregularities in carbon fiber parts, and collaborate with production teams to address root causes.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough inspection records, including detailed reports of findings and corrective actions taken.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure adherence to quality management systems, including ISO/TS standards, and customer-specific requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback to engineering and manufacturing teams to support continuous improvement initiatives related to carbon fiber processes.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in quality inspection or a related field preferred.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in quality inspection, preferably in carbon fiber or composite materials manufacturing.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) is a plus.
- Tools Expertise: Skilled in using precision measurement instruments and testing equipment. Experience with non-destructive testing methods is advantageous.
- Attention to Detail: Strong observational skills and the ability to detect subtle variations in quality or appearance.
- Communication Skills: Clear verbal and written communication for reporting inspection results and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in carbon fiber manufacturing or composites processing.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
- Certification in quality inspection (e.g., CWI, CQI) or relevant training.
