Job Description
Our client in Sterling Heights, MI is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist to join their growing team! This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong CNC programming experience who enjoys working in a precision machining environment. We are also open to experienced retirees interested in a part-time role to help train and mentor incoming employees.

Responsibilities
- Program CNC machines using applicable programming software.
- Create and improve CNC machining programs for maximum efficiency.
- Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Apply best machining practices to produce quality parts.
- Troubleshoot machining and quality issues with the production supervisor.
- Assist with machine setups and fixture design.
- Support quoting activities for machining projects.
- Perform quality inspections using precision measuring instruments.
- Complete inspection documentation and production records.
- Perform preventative maintenance on CNC equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Minimum 3 years of CNC programming and machining experience
- Proficient with G-Code and M-Code programming
- Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Strong blueprint reading skills
- Excellent math and measurement skills
- Experience using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Steel-toe work boots required
- Jeans or work pants and a work-appropriate shirt required
- Safety glasses and gloves are provided
- Opportunity to be hired directly after 520 hours
