About the Role
Cardinal Staffing is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounts Payable professional for a reputable employer in Jackson, MI. This is an in-office accounting position responsible for processing accounts payable transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, working with vendors, and assisting with accounting and finance projects. This is not a remote position.The position will initially be part-time, with the potential to transition to full-time in the future.

About the Role
Cardinal Staffing is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounts Payable professional for a reputable employer in Jackson, MI. This is an in-office accounting position responsible for processing accounts payable transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, working with vendors, and assisting with accounting and finance projects. This is not a remote position.The position will initially be part-time, with the potential to transition to full-time in the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and verify invoices for proper documentation and approval before payment
- Sort, code, match, and enter invoices into the accounting system
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues
- Prepare and process check and electronic payment runs
- Reconcile vendor statements and address discrepancies
- Communicate with vendors and respond to inquiries
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments remain current
- Provide supporting documentation for audits
- Assist with additional accounting and finance projects as needed
- 1–2 years of Accounts Payable experience preferred
- Knowledge of general accounting procedures
- Strong data entry and records-management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Oracle experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- High school diploma required; college-level accounting coursework preferred
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines
- Must be available to work in-office Monday–Friday
