Job Description
Cardinal Staffing Services is immediately hiring Mattison Grinders for a large steel client in Rockford, IL. The Mattison Grinder is responsible for operating surface and rotary grinding machines to ensure high-precision machining of steel components.
Cardinal Staffing Services is invested in their team members! All temp-to-hire employees are offered competitive compensation ($18 per hour) as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision). Generous referral bonuses are available upon hire.
Available shifts include: 3rd Shift (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM). Training will be provided on the 1st shift (7am-3pm) before transitioning to 3rd shift.

Responsibilities of the Mattison Grinder:
- Operate Mattison grinding machines for surface and rotary grinding tasks.
- Perform machine set-up and adjustments to achieve desired finish and dimensions.
- Inspect workpieces for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments.
- Maintain and troubleshoot grinding machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols.
Required Qualifications of the Mattison Grinder:
- Previous experience with surface and/or rotary grinding.
- Familiarity with Mattison grinding machines is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
- Flexibility to train on the 1st shift and transition to the 3rd shift.
