Summary: We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team. In this role, you will fabricate and assemble metal products such as worktables, racks, ladders, catwalks, and bridges. Additionally, you will provide crucial support to production and building maintenance teams by performing welding and fabrication repairs on equipment. This position requires direct interaction with internal customers to address service requests promptly and effectively.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Interact directly with customers to understand project requirements.
  • Develop project budgets and designs according to customer specifications.
  • Operate various machines (shears, saws, brakes, presses, drills) to cut and shape metal components.
  • Fit and assemble metal parts and structures.
  • Utilize welding techniques including MIG, TIG, ARC, and gas welding to join components.
  • Perform tasks such as welding, riveting, bolting, and brazing to complete assemblies.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the following requirements:
  • Proficiency with Windows XP and any CMMS work order system preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the metal fabrication industry, with extensive knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to think critically and solve complex problems related to building and fabrication projects.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years' experience in maintenance fabrication.
  • Required welding certificates.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Must possess valid state welding certifications (MIG, TIG, etc.).
  • Certified Welder Certificate preferred.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift and transport up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working at heights and on ladders.
  • Capable of operating powered mobile equipment and man-lifts.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and perform tasks in varied environmental conditions.
Work Environment:
  • Work may involve exposure to extreme temperatures and welding fumes.
  • May work in congested or confined spaces.
  • Requires working with bright welding light and various gases.
