Cardinal Staffing is partnering with one of the largest office furniture manufacturers in the world who is hiring a Purchasing Supervisor in the Maumee, OH area. The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for evaluating vendors, negotiating contracts, sourcing product, managing inventory, and preparing reports. The Purchasing Supervisor should have good knowledge of market research, along with solid analytical skills to make sure the profitable offers are being identified.

Purchasing Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Research potential vendors both domestic and international
- Create quoting requirements and evaluate offers from suppliers
- Maintain and update the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation
- Review bids and select the most advantageous approach for the company
- Negotiate contracts, prices, timelines, and other terms with suppliers or vendors
- Prepare reports on purchases, including Cost Analysis, OTIF, Quality defects, and other KPIs
- Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage, FIFO, and stock rotation
- Ensure that stock levels are checked on a daily basis and that stock holdings are maintained at optimum levels without endangering stock levels
- Responsible for purchase of raw materials, supplies and equipment
- Enter order details (e.g., vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases
- Ensure accurate pricing, complete invoice reconciliation, and complete charge backs for defective products
- Utilize historical data, forecasts, and trends to predict inventory demands
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery
- Manage procurement of components and finished goods, via various delivery modes of freight including truck and container
- Organize supplier reviews and manage interventions to ensure that stock is in place to meet production schedule and demand
- Communicate with other departments, supervisors and managers regarding relevant issues and escalate appropriately
- Support the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments
- Train and develop employees in the purchasing process, the purchasing system, and soft skills for negotiating
- Attend trade shows and exhibitions to stay up to date with industry trends and new suppliers
- Organize and direct the purchasing team and function to ensure that raw materials are available to meet production demand and deadlines
Purchasing Supervisor Requirements:
- Must possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a purchasing management environment
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Solid analytical skills with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analysis
- Negotiation skills, experience with NDAs, and contracts
- Knowledge of Microsoft D365 is a plus
- Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating, and liaising with vendors)
- Able to create a highly effective team environment
- Computer skills including MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management
- Strong critical thinking
