Job Description
Tier 1 Manufacturing Automotive Operation Manager Direct Hire OpeningLocation- Norwalk Senior Leader Tier 1 Automotive Hands-on Operation Leadership role looking for a candidate with strong leadership, presence, experience, integrity, lean manufacturing and a commitment to team building for a newly expanded division in the Norwalk Area. Salary comes with a complete comprehensive benefit package with a base salary that will also include a bonus incentive program in addition to the base. The base will be based on the quality of the interview in relation to the following duties and responsibilities in the target range of 100-140K. Our recruitment team is hosting interviews next week and the following week for qualified applicants. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Confers with Tier 1 auto industry management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, obtains data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered
- Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors
- Coordinates production activities with materials, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment
- Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with specifications, and operating or production problems
- Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality
- Revises production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems
- Consults with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products
- Visits customers as needed to maintain ongoing positive customer relations
- Provides and maintains a safe work environment
- Facilitates positive employee relations and work environment for departmental staff
- Provides direction and example for interpretation and application of company policies and procedures
- Supports the plant Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) program ensuring compliance to policy and procedures
- Writes Operator Procedures and Work Instructions for operations
- Directs the work of employees engaged in receiving raw material and in the staging and shipping of finished goods
- Facilitates the deployment and support of all Autoneum Production System (APS) standards, principles, and practices throughout the organization
- Champions the plant Continuous Improvement (CI) savings project definition by ensuring production departments have identified CI projects for the fiscal year; tracks actual v. budget; completes necessary reporting
- Assists with the development and implementation of plant specific training courses and associated materials
- Performs APS, 5S, LPA and safety audits
- Develops a program to foster continuous CI suggestions from the hourly workforce
- Ensures all RFQ’s meet manufacturing guidelines, are returned in a timely manner and filed in a controlled location
- Ensures compliance with all related TS-16949 and ISO-14001 procedures
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience
- Prefer five years’ experience in a progressive Tier One automotive manufacturing environment
- Experience with JIT manufacturing, working knowledge of TS 16949 / ISO 9001 requirements
- Minimum five (5) years of supervisory experience
- Must be comfortable working with and presenting to all levels of the organization
