Job Description

Cardinal Staffing Services, is immediately hiring Tooling Brake Press Operator for an automotive tooling client in Sterling Heights, MI. The Brake Press Operator is responsible for operating automated and semi-automated production equipment to create and manufacture finished automotive products.    Cardinal Staffing Services, is invested in their team members!  All temp-to-hire employees are offered competitive compensation $20-25/hr as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision).  Generous referral bonuses are available upon hire.  
Available shifts include 1st Monday-Thursday 6:30 am- 4 pm, Friday 6:30 am- 10:30 am. 
Responsibilities of the Brake Press Operator: 
  • Hands on knowledge of Press Brake operation.
  • Demonstrated abilities in machine set-up and fabrication of sheet metal components.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, communicate clearly.
  • Accurate math skills including algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to use all types of inspection tools including calipers, height gage, protractors, etc.
  • Maintain established safety practices in set-up and operation of equipment.
  • Self-motivated, desire to learn and grow with company.
  • Work with tight deadlines.
  • Programming experience preferable. 
  • Produce parts for assembly operations.
  • Meet customer specifications and delivery requirements.
Required Qualifications of the Brake Press Operator:
  • Working knowledge of Press Brakes utilizing NC controls.
  • Complete knowledge of Brake tooling and applications.
  • Perform visual, dimensional and first part inspection of components.
  • Perform in process quality checks (S.P.C.) of critical components to meet established requirements.
